The Smoke Creek Rounders
There are rare times when friendship and talent meet to make great music. If you long for the sounds of songs gone by "The Smoke Creek Rounders"  are a time capsule of great old country and bluegrass.

Bryan Deere
Singer and rhythm guitarist Bryan Deere hails from the Wash., D.C. / southern Maryland area. At the age of nine he attended a bluegrass festival with his father at the “Take it Easy Ranch”, that is where the bug bit.  The hard core 1950’s Wash., D.C. style bluegrass sound has been the driving force for his musical prowess. He has had the pleasure of playing with such greats as Buzz Busby, Frank Wakefield, The Stonemans and other great east coast bands. His tours include playing Australia, Ireland, Bulgaria, Holland, and Amsterdam to name a few. The Smoke Creek Rounders has given him the chance to explore another avenue. Whether the song is a honky-tonk tear-jerker or a country favorite his expressive and powerful singing is pure and true to the roots of the music.

Jeff Farias
Jeff Farias’s musical career began in the blues clubs of NYC. He toured extensively throughout the US and Canada with folk rock indie fav’s the Dorkestra and with Rounder recording artist Carrie Newcomer.
Farias formed the Bathtub Virgins in ’95 who produced 2 critically acclaimed CDs and a documentary film which aired on PBS stations in the Midwest as well as the NYC Film Festival.  He moved to Phoenix in ’98 and was a regular in the roots music scene, performing with Trophy Husbands, Nitpickers, Tammy Patrick, Dirt Music Express, Post Modern Trio, Loose Cannons Blues Band, Steve Barker Band, & Europa to name a few.   Jeff is well versed in many forms of roots music including blues, jazz, rockabilly, celtic, gypsy, bluegrass, and rock and roll.   Jeff owns and operates Gecko Park studios.
Jeff has opened for or performed with Bonnie Raitt, Ben Harper, Dr Ralph Stanley, Greg Brown, Chris Whitley, Brian Setzer, Wayne Hancock, Richard Thompson, Patty Griffin, Buddy Guy, David Lindley, The Gourds and many more.  Jeff currently resides in Southern Maryland and is working with Tammy Patrick on her 5th studio album.

Billy Thompson
Acoustic music from the likes of Doc Watson, Mississippi John Hurt, Bill Monroe,Tony Rice,The Stanley Brothers, and many more inspired
Billy Thompson to decide to take up guitar , mandolin, and fiddle.    Billy started performing in public in the seventies, backing up the very talented singer, Connie Burke. From there he went on to play Fender bass with Stillwater Express, a local band playing mostly near St Mary's College and The Take it Easy Ranch. During that time he met Charles Thompson and started playing mandolin again with the Bottom County Bluegrass band. Since then Billy has played in many bands at many venues.Songwriter, David Norris, and Billy played a few years as a duet, then formed a quartet, The Dixie Ramblers. After many years David left the Ramblers and Billy switched to guitar and the band played on,for many more years.  Since then he has appeared  with Charles Thompson ( on and off with various configurations),
Flyin' Blind, Roni Stoneman, Joey Tippett and The California Ramblers.   The Smoke Creek Rounders, Billy says, is a natural for him. In the Rounders he has a chance to play, unrestricted, selections from all the genres he has loved down through the years.

Gary Rue
Song writing is my Island; My inner voice. There have been countless acts over the years from agency orchestras, Tune Train (a theatrical children's stage show), sideman jobs, and too many acoustic and cover acts to mention. I have traveled much of the United States in former years and shared the stage with "The Association", Chuck Berry" and many great musicians traveling through the mid-west. In recent years I've had the pleasure to record with Michael Cleveland, and Jimmie Fadden of the "Nitty Gritty Dirt Band" and open for The Dirt Band at "The Va. State Theater and "The Birchmere". I am currently performing shows as a song writer  and will be releasing my 30 year song catalog as time allows along with singing, playing Guitar, steel, and Dobro as a member of "The Smoke Creek Rounders".
